On October 16, this year was performed the first Jumu’ah prayer in the newly constructed mosque in the town of Slavyanovo. It was at the initiative of the local Muslims in the town. After the rough construction was ready the believers decided to organize Friday prayer in the newly built mosque. There was invited also the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, as well as the Regional Mufti of Pleven Murad Boshnak.
A lot of efforts were made for the construction of a mosque and with donations of the local population was purchased land. The project for the construction of a mosque in the town of Slavyanovo (Pleven district) officially began with first groundbreaking on September 11, 2019. The Regional Mufti of Pleven Murad Boshnak said that the funding comes from Grand Mufti’s Office in the Republic of Bulgari and donors from the entire country and abroad.
“The construction works are already done, the minaret is almost built, and the window frames will be installed. The next installation stages are planned to be implemented very soon, namely water and drainage installation, electricity installation, fence, external and internal plaster. The final completion of the mosque depends on the good will of the donors.” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Regional Mufti of Pleven Murad Boshnak.
As an expression of the fact that the difficult part, namely the rough construction of the project of the mosque, has finished, they performed the Friday prayer (Jumu’ah) inside the mosque. The prayer was made on carpets, preliminary laid on the concrete floor. Prayers were organized there before as well, but they were either in the yard, or in front of the mosque. This is the first such prayer inside the temple under construction.
The Friday prayer was led by the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, who in his address to the local Muslims, said that exactly mosques unite the body and spirit of the believers and must be properly appreciated and always filled with love during the five-time prayers.
The initiative is not intended to be every week, but if there is a wish on behalf of the believers and with appropriate weather conditions they can organize and perform the Friday prayer in the still not ready mosque. The Regional Mufti of Pleven Murad Boshank shared that he hopes that the next Eid al-Fitr the Muslims in the town of Slavyanovo will have a ready mosque.
