The Committee for organization of the National Competition for Artistic Recitation and Memorization of the Holy Qur’an held its meeting on holding the XII competition which takes place in the town of Madan once every two years. The working meeting took place on June 11 (Thursday) this year, and this time its host was Mufti’s Representation – town of Zlatograd.

The meeting was attended by Birali Myumyun Birali – Deputy Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Committee, Nedzhmi Dabov – Regional Mufti of Smolyan, hafiz Seyhan Mehmed – expert in “Media and Culture” Department of Grand Mufti’s Office and reporter of the meeting, the expert from “Irshad” Department of Grand Mufti’s Office Resim Shamatarev, hafiz Shefket Hadzhi – Director of the Training Course for Hafizes “Hafiz Murad Hadzhi” in the town of Madan,  hafiz Bayram Ushev – teacher in the training course for hafizes in Madan and a Deputy Regional Mufti in the town of Zlatograd, and hafiz Hyusein Halibryam – educator in Religious School – Momchilgrad.

“Given the several months of state of emergency in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, among the decisions of the Committee was the National Competition for artistic recitation and memorization of the Holy Qur’an 2020 to be re-scheduled for the period of August 25 – 28 this year, and traditionally will take place again in the town of Madan. However, this decision is still not final – it will be discussed and possibly approved at the upcoming Council of Muftis, which will take place in June 17 and 18 in Velingrad.” – hafiz Seyhan Mehmed – expert at “Media and Culture” Department of Grand Mufti’s Office commented for Grandmufti.bg.

The regulations for carrying out the competition and the conditions for participation will be additionally published on the website of the Muslim Denomination, but what was finally decided during the held meeting in Zlatograd, was all candidates to participate in the National Competition for Artistic Recitation and Memorization of the Holy Qur’an, to go through preliminary attestation from their respective regional mufti’s office.
