On behalf of the Muslim community in the town of Zlatograd today, April 13 (Monday), was made an official donation to the local hospital GHAT “Prof. Dr. Asen Shopov” and “Emergency Medical Treatment” in the town.

Highly encouraged by the calls for mutual help, laid in the Holy Qur’an and in the example of Muhammad (pbuh), the Mufti’s representation in the town of Zlatograd undertook few days ago a fundraising initiative in order to support the medics in the town during the state of emergency. The Muslims from the town of Zlatograd responded unreservedly to the initiative and only within two days through the local Muslim boards of trustees were raised the necessary funds for purchasing high-quality protective clothing for the medics in the town, who daily and devotedly fight in the extreme conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The made donation included a total of 16 protective clothing which were distributed equally between the GHAT “Prof. Dr. Asen Shopov” and “Emergency Medical Treatment” in the town of Zlatograd. The noble initiative was also supported by the management of the Religious School – Momchilgrad which joined the donation by providing 15 safety helmets for he medical staff.

The donation was officially given today before afternoon from the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Trustees – Zlatograd, Habib Bayraktarov, to the Director of the hospital in Zlatograd Dr. Lyudmil Lichev and the Head of “Emergency Medical Treatment” Dr. Erol Chinar.

With its gesture the Muslim community in Zlatograd proved its gratitude and appreciation to the medics in the town, and also that it is not indifferent to the great efforts which they all make in their work in the situation of the current pandemic.
