Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia held a workshop with a charity mini-bazaar for the women from the Muslim community in the capital. It took place in March 8 (Sunday) this year and 30 women participated in it.

Guest speakers at the event were Vedat Ahmed, Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC), and Dr. Sefer Hasanov, lecturer at the Higher Islamic Institute (HII). Ahmed presented the topic “How to benefit from the three sacred months” and Dr. Hasanov delivered a lecture on “Place of the name in Muslim’s life”, dedicated to the 30^th anniversary of the democratic changes in Bulgaria and the reclaim of the Muslim names.

After the part with lectures of the event, a charity mini-bazaar with homemade food and sweets, organized at the initiative of the “Women” Department at the mufti’s office in the capital also took place in the afternoon. The total raised amount of 320.50 BGN will be spent for the organization of hatim-celebration of Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia, which is scheduled to take place on May 31 (Sunday), 2020. This will be the first event of this kind in the history of Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia, which is on the occasion of the official completion of the reading of the Holy Qur’an by about 18 children from the year-round Qur’an course at the mufti’s office in the capital. In the festive program will also participate the other nearly 30 participants in the Qur’an course with a teacher Fatme Hatip.

“We would like to use the opportunity to invite the representatives of the Muslim community in Sofia and the guests of the city at the festive hatim event on the last day of May, which will be the first of its kind in our capital.” – said from the management of Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia. They also thank everyone who took part in the Sunday workshop program and especially to the organizers from “Women” Department – Emine Sechkina and Fatme Hatip.

The guests of the workshop also expressed their gratitude to Regional Mufti’s Office – Sofia for the regularly organized programs for women, that are an opportunity to enrich their knowledge in Islam and to meet the Muslim women in the capital.
