A joint meeting of the National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) and the Central Israelite Religious Council was held on February 24 (Monday) this year, with the kind host of the Sofia Synagogue. It was attended by representatives of the boards of the two councils and the NCRCB was represented by the Chairman Birali Myumyun Birali, lawyer Greta Ganeva – representative of the Protestant community, Prof. Rupen Krikorian and Prof. Garabed Minasyan – representatives of the Armenian community, and Robert Jerassi from the Jewish community.
During its visit the NCRCB was invited to become acquainted with the Central Israelite Religious council. In the framework of the meeting everyone had the opportunity to present to the other participants their religious community. The NCRCB Chairman Birali Birali told about the work of the chaired by him council and the good practices of cooperation between the religious denominations in our country. “Our hosts from the Central Israelite Religious Council were briefed on the ongoing projects of the NCRCB, one of which are the inter-faith discussions that currently take place and will continue to be organized with the participation of the different religious denominations. The meeting of the NCRCB with the representatives of the Jewish community in our country is part of the series of meetings which the National Council holds with the representations of the different religious denominations in Bulgaria. We would like to recall that earlier this month representatives of the NCRCB Board were invited to participate in the first for the year working meeting of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC).
