Young Muslim from Varna Sali Svetoslavov was nominated at the “Volunteer Initiative Awards” national competition
The project of the student Sali Svetoslavov from Vanra “Free Libraries – Book Houses“ was nominated for “The best voluntary initiative” in the competition of the National Alliance for Volunteer Action and “Tulip” Foundation.
At an official ceremony, which took place on December 6 (Friday) this year in the Presidency fourth-year student Sali Svetoslavov, a representative of the Muslim community in Varna, was nominated for his project in the presence of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev and the Ombudsperson Diana Kovacheva.
The project of the young Muslim “Free Libraries – Book Houses” was nominated among 49 in total voluntary initiatives, implemented on the territory of our country.
In the framework of the idea of the young man from Varna, supported and implemented with the assistance and financial support of Varna Free University and the Council of Students at it, there are 10 book houses so far. Eight of them are on the territory of the city of Varna, one of which is in “Stoyan Bachvarov” Drama Theater. There is also a book house in Dobrich and one in Targovishte.
The idea of the free libraries is to promote reading paper books, especially among young people who are increasingly replacing the good old books with electronic devices.
