SMC will present again the annual “Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin Efendi” awards for contribution to the Muslim community
For another year the Supreme Muslim Council of the Muslim Denomination in the Republic of Bulgaria will present the annual “Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin Efendi” awards for contribution to the Muslim community. The awarding ceremony will take place on December 8 (Sunday), 2019 from 17:30 o’clock in the Concert Hall of the Central Military Club in Sofia.
During the ceremony will be presented five awards, one of which is honorary and institutional award. The nominations are made from the structures of the Muslim Denomination and members of the Muslim community in our country after which a special committee selected the first five of them. Among the selected people, who have set a good example for the society, contributing to the development of the Muslim Denomination and the Muslim community in Bulgaria, there are Muslims and Christians, men and women, employees of the Muslim Denomination and ordinary Muslims.
The awards named after the first Grand Mufti of Bulgaria Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin effendi are established in 2017. The date on which every year the awarding ceremony takes place in not casual – namely on December 8, 1910 Hodzhazade Muhyiddin effendi took office. The previous years the honorary awards were presented to the President Rosen Plevneliev and to Simeon Sakskoburggotski.
The aim of the awards is to honor with public recognition people with outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of the Muslim Denomination and the Muslim community in our country, as well as to promote their exemplary deeds, which will contribute to expanding the circle of the good and exemplary acts and activities in the society.
