Upcoming events till the end of “Orphans’ Week” were discussed by the imams from Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna

The imams from Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna gathered at a regular working meeting in the central mosque of the city on November 27 (Wednesday), 2019. Official guests were the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) Vedat Ahmed, head of Publishing Department at Grand Mufti’s Office Dzhemal Hatip and Dr. Ismail Dzhambazov – former rector of the Higher Islamic Institute.

In terms of the running during the present week national campaign “Orphans’ Week” the focus during the working meeting with the imams was exactly on carrying out the initiative on the territory of Regional Mufti’s Office - Varna, the ways to do this and the different events and initiatives which will be held till the end of the end of the charity campaign. One of the planned events is a charity bazaar in Varna on Friday. From the management of the local mufti’s office explained that there have already been distributed donation boxes for collecting funds to support orphans in different business premises in the region.

The agenda of the meeting also included discussion on the activities of the imams in the relevant settlements during the past month, as well as the important topic about their participation in courses for training and retraining, organized by the Muslim Denomination in our country, with a special importance for the younger ones. The SMC Chairman Vedat Ahmed focused on the fact that the participation of the imams in different trainings will directly affect their remuneration through the introduced point-based system.

Among the discussed issues during the working meeting were also the functioning of the Qur’an courses in the region, the necessity of holding religious talks in the mosques in the settlements during the winter season, the subscription for “Muslims” magazine for year 2020 as well as some internal administrative issues.

Each of the official guests of the meeting – Vedat Ahmed, Dzhemal Hatip and Dr. Ismail Dzhambazov, took an active part in the discussions.

The working meeting ended with exchanged best wishes between the guests from Sofia and the hosts from Varna and dua (supplication) for successful official affairs of everyone.
