November meeting with imams held Regional Mufti’s Office – Silistra

 

A regular monthly meeting with the imams held Regional Mufti’s Office – Silistra. It took place on November 26 (Tuesday), 2019 in the mosques of the Danube riparian town. Official guests of the working meeting were Vedat Ahmed, Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council, and Dr. Ismail Dzhambazov. The visit of the two guests was related to their participation of the program of the Muslim Denomination in Silistra on the occasion of the 30 anniversary of the reclaim of the Turkish-Muslim names which was held the same day.

During the held working meeting were discussed different current issues, the main among which was that for raising funds during the running campaign “Orphans’ Week”, which takes place in the entire country and will continue till the end of the week. The Regional Mufti of Silistra Myuddesir Mehmed shared that the major part of the Muslim population in the region is concentrated in the villages and the participation of Regional Mufti’s Office – Silistra in “Orphans’ Week” is expressed in the form of the traditional fundraising to support orphans, most of all in the villages in Silistra region.

“Many young people from the region have emigrated abroad which unfortunately is a factor for the fact that usually there is not achieved a great success in the campaigns in the region for fundraising for different causes” – shared also the Mufti Myuddesir Mehmed.

The agenda of the working meeting included also discussions related to the role of the imams, the activities performed by him and the regulation on the work of the imams. Dr. Ismail Dzhambazov took an active part on the topic and gave important guidelines for the work of the imams.

After completing the agenda the meeting was closed with a dua (supplication) for health and fruitful work.
