Folklore dance group from Turkey visited Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna

 

Folklore student group for folk dances at the Municipality of Nazilli of Aydın Province in the Republic of Turkey visited Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna and the central mosque of Varna “Azizie”. During their visit on November 20 (Wednesday), 2019 the dancers from the “Kuzeyin Uşakları” group were accompanied by their leader Dr. Erdinç Özten. The guests were welcomed by the host – the Regional Mufti of the city of Varna – Nuray Shukri, who presented to them the history of the mosque. The imam of “Azizie” mosque told the youths about the history of the city of Varna.

The folklore student dance group is in our country in connection with their participation in the International Student Folklore Festival “Meetings of Friendship” – Varna. It is organized by the University of Economics - Varna with the assistance of the Municipality of Varna and will be held from November 21 till November 23 this year in the Festival and Congress Center of the city. The festival takes place for fifth year with the idea to provide an opportunity for performance of students from different countries and to be a center of intercultural exchange.

This year in the international folklore event will participate student folklore assembles from several universities in different cities of Bulgaria, as well as from Serbia, Turkey and Georgia.

The official opening of the Fifth International Student Folklore Festival “Meetings of Friendship” will be from 19:30 o’clock in Hall1 of the Festival and Congress Center in Varna and the admission for everyone is free.
