The newly constructed mosque in the village of Gaberovo was officially opened
From this month the Muslims in the village of Gaberovo (Municipality of Pomorie, Burgas region) already have at their disposal a mosque to perform their acts of worship. The newly constructed Muslim temple was opened with an official ceremony on October 5 (Saturday), 2019 and the event gathered more than 500 guests from the region and the entire country, among whom were the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed and the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, the Regional Mufti of Aytos Selyatin Muharem, the mayors of the nearby municipalities, as well as public figures and politicians.
The official program of the opening of the Muslim temple included reading of Qur’an-i Kerim as well as delivering greeting addresses on behalf of the official guests. Eng. Nezap Topal who elaborated the project of the new mosque in Gaberovo and led the entire construction and installation work presented the chronology of the construction of the temple.
“The Muslims in Gaberovo used one old house as a masjid so far. The new mosque was constructed on the place of the building which was used till now. It has the capacity to gather of about 350 people.” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Regional Mufti of Aytos Selyatin Muharem.
The Regional Mufti of Aytos also said that the mosque in Gaberovo was constructed with funds of donors. On this occasion in the framework of the official ceremony on Saturday the donors, and also the people with a special contribution to the construction of the new Muslim temple, received plaques of gratitude.
The official program finished with dua (supplication) and qurban, which brought together at an afternoon lunch the hundreds of guests who attended the celebration.
An interesting fact is that the village of Gaberovo is the nearest settlement to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast in the Municipality of Pomorie, in which there is an operational mosque. In the past the population in the village was mixed but today it is populated almost entirely by Muslims.
