CSA: Nearly 9 500 families received qurbani meat during our social campaign this year

The Committee on Social Activities (CSA) at the Supreme Muslim Council held its regular monthly meeting on October 3 (Thursday), 2019. In the presence of all members of the Committee an analysis of the social activities during one of the most active periods of the year – Eid ul-Adha 2019, was made. 

“in the framework of the Campaign for qurbans during the present year, 2019, the Muslim Denomination with the assistance of its partnering NGOs from abroad managed to slaughter qurbans (sacrificial animals) equaling 941 qurbani shares in total. This means that approximately 9410 families were provided with qurbani meet in the framework of Eid ul-Adha 2019” – said for Grandmufti.bg the expert from the Social Department Dzhefer Isov.

During the analysis of the social activities of the Committee during the hly for the Muslims month of Ramadan it became known that this year in 20 regional mufti’s offices were distributed 3447 food packages in total (550 more than the distributed in 2018). There were also organized iftar dinners in more than 400 settlements in which participated nearly 190 000 people.

Within the October meeting of CSA were also discussed plans and organizational issues related to the upcoming campaign “Orphans’ Week” 2019. The participants in the meeting also reviewed the received new applications for supporting orphans and all 5 children without parents, proposed by the regional mufti’s offices, were approved for receiving a monthly social aid. They also discussed how many children will not continue to receive their social aid during the coming year, 2020, due to reaching the age limit. There were also reviewed the received applications for providing one-off aid to needy people.
