Representatives of InuBIT visited the city of Ruse
A group of representatives of the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (UniBIT) – Sofia visited Regional Mufti’s Office – Ruse and the mosque “Mirza Seid Pasha” on September 27 (Friday), 2019. The aim of the visit to the city was to investigate the life of the different religious ethnic groups in the Danube riparian city.
The visiting began with a visit to the mosque “Mirza Seid Pasha” and then to the Ruse Holy Metropolitinate, the Catholic Church, the Armenian Church and other religious communities. During the visit to the mosque “Mirza Seid Pasha” the Regional Mufti of Ruse Yudzhel Hyusnyu told the visiting delegation about the situation of the Muslims in the region, the activities of the Muslim Denomination and Regional Mufti’s Office – Ruse and focused on the role of the mosque in the life of Muslims.
In the framework of the visit the delegate Assistant Chief Dr. Svetlana Shapkalova forwarded the greetings on behalf of Prof. D.Sc. Irena Peteva, Rector of UniBIT – Sofia. During her talk with the Regional Mufti and Dr. Shapkalova the Mufti expressed his gratitude to the team of UniBIT for the successful joint work during the held a two-month postgraduate retraining course for teachers giving them the right to teach also the subject “Islamic religion” in the state schools. The training course was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science and was held with the participation of Grand mufti’s Office, the Higher Islamic Institute and UniBIT.
At the end of the meeting the two parties expressed their positive impressions with the held meeting and exchanged wishes for further soon meetings.
