“Dhzumaya” Mosque became part of the Night of Museums and Galleries in Plovdiv with Ebru Workshop
During the last weekend, September 13-15, 2019 for another time took place the cultural festival which was held for a first time 14 years ago as “Night of Museums and Galleries”.
NIGHT/Plovdiv, as the name of this year’s cultural initiative was, included more than 100 cultural and art events, presented at more than 70 locations in the city under the hills.
The big mosque “Murat Hyudavendigyar” at the center of Plovdiv, known also as “Dzhumaya” Mosque, also became an art center during the three-day cultural festival in Plovdiv. In the Muslim temple were held free Ebru workshops for children and adults. Younger and older people had the opportunity to touch the Eastern art through the amateur craftsmanship of Shenar and Ismail – employees of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv.
Organizer of the cultural event in the mosque in Plovdiv was the Bulgarian-Turkish Literature Club, chaired by Hüseyin Ergani – Consul of the Republic of Turkey in the city of Plovdiv. The event took place with the assistance and the support of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv and the Muslim Board of Trustees of Plovdiv.
The three-day cultural initiative provided the opportunity to nearly 1500 people to touch the Eastern technique for paining on aqueous surface, and about 500 of them even took a piece of it with themselves, because the masters of Ebru from the Consulate of the Republic of Turkey were giving the ready paintings to the visitors.
