Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan held the XII Regional Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam 

Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan, with the assistance of the Muslim Board of trustees – town of Madan, held the XII Regional Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam.

The competition took place on August 29, 2019 in the central mosque of the town of Madan and children from almost all Qur’an courses in Smolyan District attended it. 14 children in total competed in different categories and levels. They took a test and had a practical exam on performing prayer as well as reciting the Qur’an. For all other children there was organized a quiz where many prizes were given.

Children from the village of Dolen, Zlatograd region, presented an interesting play, where they demonstrated their good acting talent. The program was varied also with the participation of “Vest” band, which performed instructive religious songs.

The jury of the competition consisted of: hafiz Shefket Hadzhi – Director of the training course for hafizes “Hafiz Murad Hadzhi” in the town of Madan, Hyusein Kamberov – vaiz (preacher) at Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan and Izet Dzhalev – imam of the village of Kochan, Blagoevgrad region. It had the difficult task to evaluate the best ones among all participants.

When the competition was over, the jury awarded the first places in the different categories and levels to 7 children. They received special prizes from Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan, as well as the right to represent it at the National Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam, which will take place on September 4 and 5 in the town of Momchilgrad.

After the end of the program all participants and guests of the religious competition were offered lunch, provided by the Muslim Board of Trustees of Madan. As a host, the Regional Mufti of Smolyan Nedzhmi Dabov expressed his gratitude to all who took part in the preparation and carrying out the competition as well as to the teachers, the participants and to all guests.
