Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv held a regional competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam in Kuklen

Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv held a regional competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam which took place on August 25 (Sunday) in the mosque of the town of Kuklen.

Children from the various nearly 20 summer Qur’an courses in Plovdiv region took part in the competition for religious knowledge, during which they were separated to compete in two groups according to their level. It was also attended by teachers of the children, imams from Plovdiv region as well as many parents.

The competition included three rounds in total the first of which was a test. During the second round the participants had to answer open questions related to the Islamic religion and the third part of the event was for recitation by heart of chapters of the Holy Qur’an and supplications.

The task to select the most knowledgeable of all knowledgeable children had the jury composed by: Taner Veli – Regional Mufti of Plovdiv, Aydan Yumerov – Lecturer at the High Islamic Institute and Ekrem Hodzhev – vaiz (preacher) at the Mufti’s Office in Plovdiv.

After the tight race between all students of the summer Qur’an courses in Plovdiv region the jury announced who are the winners – Irem Rafet Mustafa in 1^st level and Birol Gyunay Durmush – in 2^nd level.
