Regional competition for the children from the summer Qur’an courses held Regional Mufti’s Office – Ruse 

Regional Mufti’s Office – Ruse held a Regional Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam with the children from the summer Qur’an courses in the district. It took place on August 26 (Monday), 2019 in the “Mirza Seid Pasha” mosque in the city of Ruse.

Representatives of 10 Qur’an courses in total from Ruse region participated in the contest for Islamic religious knowledge. The regional competition was held into three rounds and the knowledge of the competitors was evaluated by a jury chaired by Tundzhay Sherif and with members Nedzhmetin Nedzhmiev and Alper Ahmedov.

Presenter of the program was the guest-imam from the Republic of Turkey Turudu Yıldırım.

The opening began with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by the imam off the city of Ruse Ibazer Ibazerov. The host and Regional Mufti of Ruse Yudzhel Hyusnyu welcomed all attendees and wished success to the participants in the competition.

The Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam included three rounds in total. In the first round the participants took a test. The second round required demonstration of practical knowledge and the third round was for recitation by heart of verses (sura) and supplications (dua) from the Holy Qur’an by the competitors.

The program was varied with the participation of the students from the summer Qur’an courses who performed religious songs and recited poems.

The program ended with the announcement of the names of the winners. The first place was for a student from the Qur’an course in the village of Yudelnik, at second place was ranked a student from the course in the village of Obretenik, and the third place was for a student from the Qur’an course in the village of Kosharna.

Both the winners and all the participants in the competition received gifts, given them by the Regional Mufti of Ruse Yudzhel Hyusnyu and Tundzhay Sherif – Director of the Religious School “Mirza Seid Pasha” in Ruse.

The program was closed with a dua (supplication) for welfare by the guest-imam at the mufti’s office in Ruse, and at the end all participants and guests gathered for a photo as a memory.
