Regional Mufti’s Office – Montana organized Ramadan iftar-dinner in the village of Popitsa
On the evening of May 26 (Sunday) Regional Mufti’s Office – Montana organized iftar-dinner for the Muslims from the village of Popitsa (Municipality of Byala Slatina)
The Ramadan dinner which took place at the yard of the mosque in the village was attended by about 40 people from the local Muslim community. Official guests at the event were the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, the Head of Administrative Department at Grand Mufti’s Office Beyhan Mehmed as well as Bahri Izet – expert at “Irshad” Department.
The host and a Regional Mufti of Montana Nedzhati Ali welcomed all guests and presented the official guests from Grand Mufti’s Office in Sofia. The local Muslims were very happy to welcome the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov for second consecutive year in the village of Popitsa. He, in turn, also greeted the participants and emphasized on the importance of brotherhood in Islam – this one which does not depend on distances and other similar measures and which can bring together at one table, like that evening, people from various settlements, different age, men and women.
During the meeting it was focused on the upcoming summer Qur’an courses for children which Grand Mufti’s Office organizes and which will begin after the end of the month of Ramadan.
The host Nedzhati Ali turned to all with the wish these Ramadan meetings to continue also during the next years and to take place more frequently. He expressed his hope that with every following year more people will understand the blessing which the sacred month of Ramadan brings with it.
