The first mosque in the village of Stamboliyski, Haskovo region, was opened
Friday, May 3, this year was a double holiday for the Muslims from the village of Stamboliyski, Haskovo region. For a first time since the establishment of the village it already has a Muslim temple.
The mosque, called “Hadzhi Davud Cami” was opened on Friday in the presence of nearly 400 people – local Muslims, guest from the country and from abroad. The official opening was organized by Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo together with the Muslim board of Trustees of the village of Stamboliyski.
Among the official guests of the opening ceremony of the Muslim temple were the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, the regional muftis of Haskovo, Plovdiv, Kardzhali and Sliven – respectively Basri Eminefendi, Taner Veli, Beyhan Mehmed and Akif Akifov. The event was also attended by representatives of the General Consulate of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv, the lecturer from Edirne, Turkey, Nuri Böcekbakan, the Director of Religious School – Momchilgrad Ahmed Bozov, as well as by the Director of the training school for imams in the village of Ustina and the former Grand Mufti of the country Selim Mehmed, and others.
The program was opened with recitation of Mawlid-i-Sherif, Qur’an-i Kerim and performances of ilyahi, and then the official guests presented their addresses to the attendees. The ceremony also included nasihat (counselling) delivered by Selim Mehmed and dua (supplication) made by the honorary guest Nuri Böcekbakan from the Republic of Turkey. The Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasnov gave on behalf of the Muslim Denomination in Bulgaria a plaque of gratitude to the main sponsor hadzhi Davud from the Republic of Turkey for his donation.For all participating Muslims and hosts of the celebration were prepared qurban and treat.
“The construction of the first in the history of the village of Stamboliyski, Haskovo region, mosque began in 2016 with the funds of the Muslims from the local Muslim community. Later it was finally completed thanks to the donor from the republic of Turkey Hadzhi Davud, after whom is named the Muslim temple.” - said for Grandmufti.bg the Regional Mufti of Haskovo Basri Eminefendi.
The local Muslims are extremely happy with the fact that there already exists a mosque in the village and that it would not be necessary to travel to Haskovo or to neighboring villages for the various Islamic acts of worship.
