Inter-religious discussion of the NCRCB in Belitsa brought together dozens of representatives of different religious denominations
On April 12 (Friday) this year from 11:00 o’clock the National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) held a discussion in the town of Belitsa on “The Creation according to the heavenly religions”. Kind host of the event was the Municipality of Belitsa in the person of the local Mayor Radoslav Revanski.
Representatives of the different religious denominations in Bulgaria participated in the discussion. Among them were the NCRCB President and a Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun Birali as well as the representatives of the NCRCB Board – Prof. Rupen Krikorian, Stela Behar and lawyer Greta Ganeva. As representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church also participated the local priest Father Nikolay Popov and Valya Chonkova – a teacher in the Sunday school in the town of Belitsa. Guests and representatives of the Muslim Denomination were the local imam Ahmed Gorelski and the Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed.
The event was opened by Radoslav Revanski – Mayor of the Municipality of Belitsa. He opened the inter-religious discussion which was attended by dozens of representatives of the different religious communities in the municipality. He also pointed out that the diverseaudience itself is a proof of tolerance, understanding, harmony and unity in which the people from the different religions and ethnicities in Belitsa co-exist for centuries. The mayor Revanski thanked his guests from the National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria for the great honor which they did to the local people with their presence and with the choice of the topic of the discussion – “The Creation according to the heavenly religions”.
The participants were welcomed also by the Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed – representative of the official guests of the discussion meeting.
The aim of the topic and the held discussion itself was to get to know each other and the well-being between the different religious communities in our country, which is a priority of the activities of the NCRCB.
“Belitsa has to be an example to the people throughout the world. Because regardless of the religious and ethnic affiliation, among the people in the region exist peace, love and understanding. And we felt this today within the held discussion forum on “The Creation according to the heavenly religions” – said during the closure of the event the NCRCB President Birali Myumyun Birali who was a moderator of the discussion.
