The Grand Mufti was an official guest of a meeting with the imams in Shumen

On February 13, 2019 at Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen took place a working meeting with the imams from the region. The meeting took place at the meeting hall of the mufti’s office in Shumen and was attended by all imams from the region.

The working meeting was opened with recitation of Qur’an-i Kerim by the guest-imam from the Republic of Turkey Musa Kai. Then Mesut Mehmedov – Regional Mufti of the city of Shumen welcomed all participants. Official guest of the working meeting was Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi – the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Turkey.

Within the working meeting with the imams the Regional Mufti delivered a report on the work of Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen during the last year, 2018. The report included also the planned activities for the present year, 2019. There were also discussed a number of important and current issues, related to the work of the imams.

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi briefly reminded about the importance and the work of the imams and also informed the participants about the amendments to the Law on the Religious Denominations.

After the meeting the Grand Mufti visited Religious School “Nyuvvab” in the city Shumen where he met with the students and the teachers from the educational institution. During his visit in Shumen region the religious leader of the Muslims in Bulgaria held also a meeting with the participants in the training course for imams in the city of Shumen.
