Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Bulgaria Herbert Salber visited NCRCB

On February 13 (Wednesday) 2019 the Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany in Sofia Herbert Salber visited the National council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) and held a meeting with the Chairman of the Council Birali Myumyun Birali and the other members of the NCRCB Board. The diplomat was accompanied by his deputy York Schuegraf. 

Within the meeting the activities and the work of the NCRCB, the projects which it develops were presented, and also the guests from the German Embassy to Bulgaria were informed about the different religious denominations which are part of the council of the religious comminutes.

One of the discussed topics was the Law on the Religious Denominations. The host Birali Myumyun Birali expressed his relief with the fact that the adopted at first reading amendments have been left out after alland after its second reading the final version of the law already does not contain a big part of the worrying, restrictive for the religious denominations point.

In his turn the Ambassador of Germany Salber showed a great interest to the common positions and opinions of the NCRCB on various social and public issues. The diplomat highly appreciated the work of the Council and especially the fact that people from different religious denominations and representatives of different religious communities can develop cultural, scientific and other activities without arguing, respecting the good dialogue.

At the end of the held meeting the two parties focused on the importance of such kind informative meeting and promised each other that their cooperation will continue also in the future.

After the meeting the members of the NCRCB Board held their regular meeting.
