Training course for imams in Ustina and Shumen completed another class
Class 2018 at the Muslim training school – Ustina and Training course for imams “Mustafa Chatlak” – Shumen was officially completed on December 20, 2018 (Thursday). 22 graduates in total received their diplomas at a common official ceremony, which took place at the Ottoman mosque “Abu Bakr” in the town of Yambol. Host of the official program was Regional Mufti’s Office – Sliven.
“Official guests of the event were the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, who is directly in charge with the training courses for imams, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sofia and of the General Consulate of the Republic of Turkey in Burgas. The event was also attended by regional muftis, representatives of “Irshad” Department and other officials of Grand Mufti’s Office” shared for Grandmufti.bg the expert from “Irshad” Department Bahri Izet.
The official program was opened by the Regional Mufti of Sliven Akif Akifov, who welcomed the guests. Welcoming speeches were also delivered by other official guests. Then each of the 22 graduates received a certificate for successfully completed training for imam. Just a few days earlier on they all passed oral and written exam before a specially formed commission of experts from “Irshad” Department of Grand Mufti’s Office.
After the end of the official graduation program of the graduated imams they along with all guests shared a festive lunch, organized by the hosts from Regional Mufti’s Office – Sliven.
The training courses for qualified imams in our country during the recent years have been held at several places. The duration of the training course is 9 months and is held according to an approved program, which is agreed by the Grand Mufti’s Office of the Muslims in the republic of Bulgaria. The program includes comprehensive studying of different Islamic disciplines.
The graduated imams who passed the specialized training for imams of Muslim Denomination, have the opportunity to work as Muslim clerics or as officials in the system of the Muslim Denomination in Bulgaria.
