DECLARATION
FROM
GRAND MUFTI’S OFFICE OF THE MUSLIM DENOMINATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA
Оn the very Day of theUnification of the Principality of Bulgaria and the Eastern Rumelia vandals broke and desecrated over 40 Muslim gravestones in the part of the Turkish cemetery in the town of Dobrich. Islamophobia has become modern nowadays and unfortunately even the last earthly homes of the deceased are violated, in order someone to overcompensate serious psychological and sick complexes. The despondentpeople are possessed by the devil and raging through our country. The state institutions must undertake adequate and immediate actions to detain and penalize the perpetrators of this vandal act. During the last two years several draft laws on the religious denominations have been brought to the National Assembly but unfortunately none of them is constructive and does not serve the needs of the believer. All these restrictive draft laws have only one aim – “to please” the pseudopatriotic feelings of the little people in order to gain political dividends. The political angrosists have a huge blame for the situation of the “sick person” who is ranging in the cemeteries and commits vandal acts, considering it as patriotism on the very days of the national holidays. We need to think seriously about the deep meaning of the inscription over the front entrance of our National Assembly “United we stand strong”, with which we presented ourselves to the worlds during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Grand Mufti’s Office of the Muslim Denomination strongly condemns the sick act of vandalism in the part with Turkish graves in the cemetery of the town of Dobrich. It also calls upon the law enforcement authorities sooner to detain the perpetrators and to make them stand before the Bulgarian court.
