Reception on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha 2018

On August 21, 2018an officialreception on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha took place at TheGrand Mufti's Office.

The guests were welcomed by Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali, the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) Vedat Ahmedand the Secretary General of Muslim Denomination Dzhelal Faik.

The Grand Mufti’s Office traditionally every year organizes a reception on the occasion of the Muslims feasts where representatives of different religious communities, diplomats, political representatives, journalists, intellectuals and public figures are invited.

The Deputy Grand Mufti addressed the guests, saying, "Allow me to welcome you on the behalf of The GrandMufti of the Republic of Bulgaria, Dr Mustafa Hadzhi and on my behalf with “Welcome” to the Eid Ul-Adha reception."

The Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali alsocongratulated all the Muslims and expressed his joy due to the presence of representatives from other religious communities in Bulgaria.

As a host the Deputy Grand Mufti said: "Eid ul-Adha is one of the great holidays of the Muslim community. At the time of Eid ul-Adha we follow the tradition of Ibrahim (a.s.) (Abraham). This tradition comes to us from the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.). It also shows that knowledge about worship can be a cause of convergence rather than opposition. Today, all Muslims, following this tradition, say that religious differences are not the basis for opposition between people. On the contrary, the opposition between the peoplemay appear because ofthelack of knowledge about religion and because of religious ignorance and following the egoistic man’s gusts. " 

The guests thanked the host for the friendly invitation and expressed the wish for more moments in which people from different religions and ethoses share and respect the holidays of each others.
