The National Campaign

"Islamic Education Support Month" was crowned with success for another year in a row

The Education Department of The Grand Mufti’s Office of The Republic of Bulgaria organized the traditional national campaign in support of theIslamic education.This year it wascarried out in the month of Ramadan – from the 15^th of May till the16^th of June.

The total amount of the funds collected was BGN 322,995.52 (three hundred twenty-two thousand nine hundred and ninety-five leva and fifty-two stotinki).

This result was achieved within the initiative of The Grand Mufti's Office, in which the regional muftis and their teams, imams, Muslim boards of trustees and active Muslims from and outside Bulgaria were actively involved.

"This success encourages us and shows that Muslims in Bulgaria trust the  Muslim denomination, as well as they are committed to our activities and will continue to support the Islamic education in the future,", experts from the Department of Education of The Grand Mufti’s Office commented.

The funds raised will be spent entirely on Islamic education as following:

• Enlargement and development of Qur’an courses;

• Providing scholarships for students in schools and students in universities;

• Improving the quality of religious education of children in schools;

• Financingof the activities in our religious schools;

• Organizing courses and seminars for our teachers and students;

• Drawing up and publishing modern academic and educational literature.

Our dua to Allah (S.T.) is may He reward everyone for the efforts and commitment to this charity.” - the experts from the Department of Education of the Grand Mufti’s Office also said.
