Supreme Muslim Council held another meeting
The Supreme Muslim Council (SMC), which is the central collective managing body of the Muslim Denomination, held another meeting on July 12, 2018 in Sofia. The members of the Council discussed important for the Muslim community issues related to their religious and social life.
Important part of the agenda of the meeting was the question about renting waqf property and its efficient management. Along with this were discussed the preparatory activities for awarding the annual prize named after the first Grand Mufti Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyidin effendi. Once again it was confirmed that the deadline for submission of proposals for awarding the prize is October 15, 2018.
During the meeting were also discussed the activities within the “Year of the Young Family”, which the SMC announced the current year 2018. In this regard the special committee which deals with the activities related to the young families reported that in the framework of a joint project with NGO will be organized wedding celebration of twenty-five young families.
For all of them will be provided basic needs such as trousseau. In connection with this the Supreme Muslim Council set September 15, 2018 as a deadline for those newlyweds who want to join the project to submit their applications.
