Iftar dinner brought together hundreds of Muslims in Sarnitsa

The traditional iftar dinner for nearly 2000 Muslims from Sarnitsa and guests of the town was given by the Municipality of Sarnitsa together with the local Muslim Board of Trustees. The iftar dinner took place at the square of the town in theRhodope Mountains on the 27^th evening of the month of Ramadan.

Official guest was the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. The event was also attended by the Regional Mufti of Pazardzhik Abdullah Salih, also by imams, MPs and thousands of guests from Sarnitsa and the neighboring settlements.

The program was opened with reading of a part of the Holy Qur’an by the imam of the town of Rakitovo Shaban Kerkelov. Then the Grand Mufti delivered his greeting address to all participants.

“The month of Ramadan is the reflection of man's life in this world. And the Eid (the Feast) is an image of the Qiyamah (Resurrection) Day – the general rehearsal for this day…” – said Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi in his address to the two thousand Muslim community.

Address to the Muslims from the town and all guests was also delivered by the Mayor of the Municipality of Sarnitsa Nebi Bozov.

After the end of the program all participants were invited to share the Ramadan table prepared with the financial support of the Municipality of Sarnitsa.
