Meeting of the Committee on the organization of a national competition for artistic reading and memorization of the Qur’an

On March 24 the Committee on the organization of a national competition for artistic reading and memorization of the Holy Qur’an held its first meeting for the organization of the 11^th competition for artistic reading and memorization of the Qur’an, which takes place every two years.

The meeting, held at the training course for hafizes in the town of Madan, was attended by Birali Birali – Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Grand Mufti; Nedzhmi Dabov – Regional Mufti of Smolyan; hafiz Shefket Hadzhi – Director of the training course for hafizes in the town of Madan; hafiz Bayram Ushev – teacher in the training course for hafizes; Resim Shamatarev – expert at “Irshad” Department at Grand Mufti’s Office; hafiz Hyuseim Halibryam - imam of the mosque “Yedikazlar” in the village of Podkova; hafiz Mustafa Kaylitski – student in fourth course at HII; and hafiz Seyhan Mehmed – expert at “Media and Culture” Department at Grand Mufti’s Office.

The Committee decided to hold the competition this year within the period August 7-10 in the town of Madan. The first two days to be competitive and the third day will take place a final program and it will be a day for performances where the winners will show their talents.

The Chairman of the Committee Birali Birali shared: “As in year 2016, this year women will also be able to participate in the competition. In the program are foreseen cultural and sports activities for all participants.”

The regulations for holding the competition and the conditions for participation will be published on the website of the Muslim Denomination.
