Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo held its first for year 2018 meeting wit imams

Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo held its January monthly meeting with the imams from the region, which was the first for the present year 2018. It took place on January 17, 2018 (Wednesday) and due to the winter conditions and the epidemic influenza situation in the country a lot of the imams were absent.

The Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo Syuleyman Masurev welcomed the 10 people in total who attended the meeting. He informed them about the agenda of the meeting. The imams discussed issues related to the education and it was focused on the fact there is a lack of staff from the region of Veliko Tarnovo in the religious schools in the country. It was found out that from the settlements in the scope of the mufti’s office there is only one student who is currently studying in Religious School – Ruse. There were discussed the possibilities for “improvement” of the statistics and bringing more students form the region to the secondary religious schools in Bulgaria.

Within the working meeting the imams discussed the topic for promotion and dissemination of the new editions of Grand Mufti’s Office, including books and magazines, in Veliko Tarnovo and the region. They all can be purchased and ordered through the mufti’s office.

“During the held January meeting we analyzed the held campaign of Grand Mufti’s Office in support of orphans. The donation boxes from all settlements in the scope of the mufti’s office in Veliko Tarnovo were submitted. The funds the amount of which exceeds 1000.00 leva will be relocated to “Social” Department of Grand Mufti’s Office in the capital” – said the Secretary of the mufti’s office in Tarnovo Yashar Mehmedov for Grandmufti.bg.

One of the current topics on the agenda of the meeting was about the upcoming Umrah campaign. It was explained that those who want to perform Umrah in the Holy Places this year should submit their documents for this till February 22 this year, at the latest. The group will travel from Bulgaria around March 6, 2018. And the candidates can prepare the necessary documents and to submit them to Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo or to send them directly to Grand Mufti’s Office in Sofia.
