Meeting of the Council of Muftis was held

On November 2^nd, Thursday from 10:30 o’clock the regional muftis gathered for a common meeting in the Media and Culture Center at the Muslim Denomination in Sofia.

The agenda of the meeting included a discussion of the budget of the Muslim Denomination for the nine months of the year with the revenues and expenditures, the budget of the Muslim boards of trustees, the campaign “Orphans’ Week”, the campaign for “Muslims” magazine, the “Active Imam” Conference and the sacred birth of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) (Mawlid Kandili).

The focus was once again on the deficit in the budget of the Denomination. “The main problem is salaries”, said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and addressed the regional muftis with the words: “According to me here are the responsible people with whom we have to solve this problem.”

After commenting on the expenditure and the revenue sides of the budget it was concluded that there have to be made a comprehensive review of the budget of the Denomination for every quarter of the year.

Regarding “Orphans’ Week” it was decided to hold the campaign in the last week of November. And that will also include the sacred birth of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

One of the topics discussed during the meeting was also the Scientific Conference “The Active Imam” which will take place on November 16^th in the town of Sliven. It will be attended by the most active imams from all regional mufti’s offices on the territory of Bulgaria.
