For another year Grand Mufti’s Office hosted a traditional meeting with representatives of the Alevi community
Grand mufti’s Office for another year organized and held an official dinner meeting with representatives of the Alevi community in Bulgaria. Traditionally the initiative takes place during the month of Muharram, which is a month of mourning for the Alevi community.
This year the meeting took place on 19th of October (Thursday), 2017 in the premises of Grand Mufti’s Office in the capital.
It was attended by the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat Ahmed, the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun and the Secretary General of the mufti’s office Dzhelal Faik.
Among the guests were also representatives of the regional mufti’s offices in Silistra, Sliven, Ruse, Razgrad, where primarily is concentrated the Alevi population in Bulgaria.
“Such initiatives are important in terms of getting to know each other and consolidating the understanding that we all, regardless of the differences between us, are part of one common Muslim community in Bulgaria” – commented on the occasion of held meeting the Spokesman of Grand Mufti’s Office Dzhelal Faik.
