Ashura Day was marked by Regional Mufti's Office - Shumen

At the initiative of Regional Mufti's Office - Shumen on 29^th of September, 2017  (Friday) in the mosque "Sherif Halil Pasha" in the city of Shumen was celebrated the Ashura Day.

Celebrating the Ashura Day is based on one very old historical tradition. In the holy month of Muharram happened many important historical events but one of the most important for Islam is the event in Karbala.

On the 10^th day of the month of Muharram, 61 Hijri year, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) - hz. Husayn was killed in the most cruel way along with other seventy shuhada.

With regard to this in the "Sherif Halil Pasha" was made a dua (supplication) for the shuhada from the event in Karbala. The Muslims prayed also for all shuhada who gave their lives for their religion, faith, for justice and morality.

The aim of the celebration of his event is to learn from what happened in Karbala and  to prevent such events to happen again.

After the Friday prayer on the occasion of the Ashura Day Regional Mufti's Office - Shumen gave all Muslims that participated the traditional dessert "Ashure" prepared specially for the occasion.
