National Assembly Chairman Dimitar Glavchev visited Regional Mufti’s Office – Montana

In the framework of his visit to the town of Vidin on 16^th of September, 2017 the Chairman of the 44^th National Assembly Dimitar Glavchev responded to the invitation of the Regional Mufti of Mintana Nedzhati Ali to visit the mosque “Osman Pazvantoglu” in the town of Vidin.

During his visit Glavchev was accompanied by the Mayor of Vidin Eng. Ognyan Tsenkov, the Regional Governor of Vidin Albena Georgieva, MPs and other officials. The delegation saw the mosque which is a national cultural monument as well as the library of Osman Pazvantoglu.

The hosts informed the guests about the history of the Muslim temple in the building of which currently is located the premises of Regional Mufti’s Office – Montana. The mosque and the library are two sites of the ensemble of Osman Pazvantoglu that remained preserved to nowadays.

In his turn, the Regional Mufti of the town of Montana Nedzhati Ali also was among the official guests of the celebration on the occasion of the 201 anniversary of the birth of Exarch Anthim I in the town of Vidin. Exactly the celebration was the reason for the visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly Dimitra Glavchev in the town.

The celebrations began with a solemn liturgy in the “St. Dimitar Solunski” Cathedral and continued with a prayer in front of the mausoleum of the clergyman, which is located in the yard of the Metropolitan Church of Vidin.

Within the same day, 16^th of September this year the Regional Mufti Nedzhati Ali and the rest of the officials attended together the opening of the new academic year for the newly opened branch of the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”.
