Propitious rain welcomed the first Hajj pilgrims this year in Madinah

Cloudy and rainy weather met the first Hajj pilgrims in Madinah this year. The rain is a very rare phenomenon for this annual season in Saudi Arabia.

40 % more pilgrims than in 2016 are going to perform Hajj this year. During the past year 2016 pilgrimage to the holy places of Mecca and Madinah did about 1.9 million Muslims while this year their number is expected to reach 2.6 million.

According to the information of the Central Administration of Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah in the city of the Prophet (pbuh) have already arrived nearly 110 000 Muslims from all over the world. The airport is well prepared to meet the large number of Hajj pilgrims, there are opened 100 passenger service desks so that the arrival to be smooth and seamless.
