Ramadan festive program “Awaiting the iftar” was also held in Veliko Tarnovo 

The evening of 13h of June (Tuesday) was festive for the Muslims from Veliko Tarnovo and the region. After the event in Ruse the Ramadan festive program “Awaiting he iftar” was also held in the Old Capital City.

It took place in the yard of the mosque and was opened with recitation of Qur’an-i Kerim by the guest-imam at Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo from Turkey. After that the host Syuleyman Masurev welcomed all guests. They numbered nearly 160 people in total among whom were the imams from the local Mufti’s Office and the chairmen of the Muslim boards of trustees from the surrounding settlements. The other guests were Muslims from Veliko Tarnovo and the villages on the territory of the Regional Mufti’s Office.

The Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun in his address to all guests focused on issues related to the fasting and the month of Ramadan. “Fasting is the zakat for the body which we give once a year” – said the Deputy Grand Mufti.

In the program took also part the imam of the village of Kilifarevo. The festive Ramadan program “Awaiting the iftar” was musically adorned with performances of ilyahi by Nihat Ademov, one of the performers from “Vest” band.

After performing the Maghrib prayer all participants shared the Ramadan iftar dinner.
