Mosques and other temples in London opened doors for the victims from “Grenfell Tower”

 

Exceptional are the damages after the fire in “Grenfell Tower” in West London, broke out in the early hours of 14th of June. The 27-floor block has been completely burnt.

As a sign of solidarity with what happened and with all victims, Muslims, Christian and other religious communities in London immediately responded and offered their help by opening the doors of the prayer temples near “Grenfell Tower”. They offer water, food and shelter to the affected by the fire.

Given the fact that the evacuees from the building do not have anything except the clothes that they wear, the local religious communities have already launched also campaigns for gathering basic essentials of life. There are gathered food, clothes, bedding, and toiletries.

“Grenfell Tower: was built in 1974 and it had 120 municipal flats. During the blazing fires on Wednesday morning there were 40 fire brigades and more than 200 firefighters at the place. Currently the confirmed number of the victims of the fire is 12, and at least 74 injured were taken to different hospitals in London. There are still missing people, reported the police in London.
