Traditional circumcision was done in Veliko Tarnovo
At the initiative of Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo on 22nd of May, 2017 was held a traditional circumcision (sunnet) in the city. The event was held in a festive atmosphere in the mosque of the old capital city.
Before the beginning of the circumcision the Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo Syuleyman Masurev made a general supplication (dua). He spoke about the importance of the circumcision in Islam as well as about the origin of this practice for the Muslims. An active part in the organization took the imam of the village of Petko KAravelovo Halil Aliev.
Regional Mufti’s Office – Veliko Tarnovo organized circumcision for the children from the region every year. This year were circumcised nearly 30 boys at the age from 1 to 10 years, who were from Veliko Tarnovo and the surroundings. The small boys were circumcised by the specialist with a long experience in this field Dr. Lyutvi Ahmet from the town of Aytos.
