Head-coverings allowed by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA)
The Board of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) during its meeting in Hong Kong changed its regulation in a way that the female basketball players to be able to play with headscarves, hijab, etc. The change shall enter into force on 1st of October.
During the same meeting were also adopted the regulations that allow women to play with a headscarf or shawl providing that the headscarf or the shawl does not disturb the player, does not cover the face and has to be with a color corresponding to the uniform of the team. The headscarves which will be used from several players in a given team have to be with the same color and pattern.
