A lesson in doing good from Religious school “Nyuvvab” in Shumen

10th of December, 2016. Saturday. Entire Bulgaria is shocked by what happened in the village of Hitrino – the derailment of a part of the trainset with tanks and the explosion which followed at the railway station in the village. 29 injured and 8 dead.

The anxiety and the compassion that seized the entire Bulgarian nation did not also passed over the students from the Religious school “Nyuvvab” in the city of Shumen. According to the children and the teacher Ibazerova – on Monday after the tragedy the children began the classes quite thrilled”. Some of them have relatives and friends in the unfortunate village. The youngest victim of the accident is even their same age – 18 year-old boy. And Hitrino is only 20 far from Shumen.

Only some hours are necessary for the students from “Nyuvvab” in order to decide – they undertake an initiative to support the victims in Hitrino. Then they put a box in school for raising funds. The teachers in the educational institution supported the initiative and joined it.

Within several weeks the children with the support of their teachers manage to collect an amount of money which they are already ready to use for the needs of the victims in Hitrino. After consultation with the Crisis center in Shumen it became known that the biggest need in the moment in Hitrino is the need of cleaning and washing preparations. And they purchased them.

Three students from 12th grade – Nedzhet, Mehmed and Aysun, accompanied by the Director of the school Sherif Hyusnyu and one more teacher, the last week personally visited the village of Hitrino in order to give their donation to the affected families.

A donation or a lesson in doing good – for all of us?! Or maybe both of them! And one school in one Bulgaria, which has a very important role – to make the students not philosophers, mathematicians or physicist, but to make them …People. People with good and believing hearts.
