Grand Mufti met with Apostolic Nuncio in Bulgaria

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi held his first protocol visit to H.E.H. Monsignor Anselmo Guido Pecorari, Apostolic Nuncio of Pope Francis in Bulgaria.
“The dialogue with the Christians on these lands is our pride. In Bulgaria we live together for centuries and we believe that we are stronger when we are united in our joint causes”, said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi during the meeting. He congratulated Monsignor Anselmo Guido Pecorari for his appointment as Apostolic Nuncio in Sofia. According to the Grand Mufti the National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) also has a great contribution for the joint constructive dialogue.
“Since I am in Bulgaria I attended several iftars, organized by you, the President and the Turkish Ambassador in Sofia. This is a good symbol for the inter-institutional relations and the attitude of the country towards the religious communities”, said Monsignor Anselmo Guido Pecorari. In his words he fully supports the active dialogue and admires the behavior of the traditional religious communities in the country.
The diplomat arrived in the country on 27th of June, 2014. He is a religious and a diplomatic representative of His Holiness Pope Francis. The Apostolic Nuncio is mostly titular archbishop. His task is to support the relations between the Holy See and the other countries, as well as between the Pope and the bishops in a given country.
