The Bulgarian Muslim community in England chose the new leadership of the Association of the Muslims from Bulgaria
On 10th of July, 2016 the Association of the Muslims from Bulgaria in the United Kingdom held a General Meeting for election of new leadership. Members in the newly formed composition of the Managment Board of the Association are S. Karani, A. Mehmed, G. Mehmedov, A. Hasan, E. Ibryam, A. Dokova, H. Halilova, E. Rashid and E. Baldzhieva. Sevgin Karani will be a Chairman of the Association. There was adopted and approved the annual program for the activities of the Management Board, including different cultural and religious events and educational programs.
Official guests of the meeting were the Chairman of the Association of the Turks from Western Thrace in London Ercüment Mustafaoğlu and Necmi Hasanoğlu, founder and former Chairman of the same Association.
The Association the new name of which is “UNION OF THE MUSLIMS FROM BULGARIA IN UK”, was found on 2nd of October, 2011, in London and represents the Muslim community from Bulgaria in the United Kingdom and at the same time it is a representation of Grand Mufti’s Office.
On 19th of June ,2016 the Grand Mufti of the Muslims in Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi met with the Muslim community in London and called upon the Muslims to be united and together, to work together for their prosperity and for the future of their children. To take care about the balance between the material and the spiritual, not to lose one of them at the expense of the other. He also said that Grand Mufti’s Office represents all Muslims from Bulgaria no matter whether they are in the country or abroad.
