Declaration on behalf of Grand Mufti’s Office in the Republic of Bulgaria with regard to the attack in Orlando, USA

The Muslim Denomination in the Republic of Bulgaria condemns the brutal attack towards innocent people in Orlando, USA, where dozens of citizens were killed. We strongly condemn such acts of violence and hatred which cause pain and suffering of people. These acts cannot be justified in any way. Taking human’s life is a crime towards humanity and towards the Almighty Who created people as the best creatures. At the same time once again we are worried by the fact that religion is used as a justification for the done violence and as a mean for achieving political purposes. The Holy Qur’an had defined the murder as a crime and considers it as one of the greatest sins.

The Muslim Denomination and the Muslim community in Bulgaria expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families and the relatives of those who lost their lives, as well as solidarity with the people of the United States. We believe that it is our common duty to make efforts in order to save the world from the evil of hatred, violence and terrorism.
