Grand Mufti was guest of the opening of the 43^rd National Assembly

“I would like to wish success to all elected members of the parliament in the 43^rd National Assembly. I am sure that you already feel the responsibility to be burdened with the people’s trust. The high expectations towards you from the society require honesty and constant work. The Bulgarian citizens want to live with dignity”, said the President of the Republic Rosen Plevneliev during the official opening of the 43^rd National Assembly, where guests were the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and the Deputy Grand Mufti Vedat S. Ahmed. The official sitting was attended by His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte, representatives of the other religious denominations, diplomats and guests.

According to the President in order to improve the quality of life in the country reforms, effective polices and institutions in service of the people are required.

“I sincerely hope that the National Assembly will turn into an institution where political forces clash ideas and arguments and leave behind them their personal and partisan clashes. Bulgaria is a parliamentary republic and none of the important for the country steps can be undertaken without a working and a stable parliament”, said the President.

According to the Head of the State the parliamentary democracy and the multi-party political system are the most valuable achievements of the Bulgarian transition.

The official sitting of the 43^rd National Assembly traditionally was opened by the eldest member of the parliament Prof. Stefan Danailov. The members of the parliament elected with majority Tsetska Tsacheva for Chairperson of the NA.
