Regional Muslim Conference – Smolyan re-elected Nedzhmi Dabov as a Regional Mufti

On 15^th of March, 2016 at the premises of Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan was held a Regional Muslim Conference which was attended by 62 delegates and official guests, among which the Grand Mufti of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the regional muftis of Sofia, Blagoevgrad and Pazardzhik Mr. Mustafa Izbishtali, Mr. Aydan Muhammed and Mr. Abdullah Salih, religious activists from the region, chairmen of Muslim boards of trustees, representatives of state and public institutions.

The Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi welcomed the delegates and wished them fruitful conference. He called upon the Muslim community to be active in solving its own problems. The Grand Mufti stressed that as it is a crime to take a human life in the same way it is a crime to maim the human soul and to sow the seeds of discord in a community.

The Regional Mufti Nedzhmi Dabov presented a summary report on the activities of the Regional Mufti’s Office for mandate 2011 – 2016, which summarized five fields of the activities of the Regional Mufti’s Office.

“During the recent five years I had the honor and the responsibility to head the Muslim community in Smolyan region. Being entrusted with this huge responsibility in front of the Almighty Allah, in front of the Muslim community and the society, I tried according to my power and abilities to justify the trust which was placed on me. During the past years we made efforts to build one sustainable religious institution which to meet the expectations of the Muslim community and to bear responsibility in front of the society. We made efforts to expand the inter-faith and the dialogue with the state and public institutions”, further said Nedzhmi Dabov in his report.

He thanked the imams, the Muslim board of trustees, the Regional Muslim Council, the Administration, the regional muftis, the Grand Mufti and the Supreme Muslim Council for the trust and the support during the past mandate, as well as for the re-voted trust.

After the end of the Conference the Regional Mufti and the Chairman of the Conference Mr. Huseyn Bekir gave a special press conference where was presented the course of the Conference and the decisions made at it, as well as were given answers of current topics for the society.
