Mufti of Vidin joined the celebrations on the occasion of the birth of Antim I

This year is the 200th anniversary from the birth of the first Bulgarian Exarch and first Bishop of Vidin – Antim.

On this occasion on 15th and 16th of February 2016 with solemn celebrations in the Old Vidin is marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Antim I.  

In connection with this the Regional Mufti of Vidin Nedzhati Ali and his team took part in a number of the celebrations. They attended a festive concert of the Eastern-Church Choir at the Faculty of Theology of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Sofia. It took place on 15th of February from 18:00 o’clock. The representatives of Regional Mufti’s Office – Vidin visited also another event related to the anniversary – a concert of ensemble “Tsvyat – 1870” which was held in the Drama Theater – Vidin.

On 16th of February Nedzhati Ali and his team attended gathering divine liturgy the in the “St. Martyr Dimitar Solunski” Cathedral in the city of Vidin and a procession from the Cathedral to the Tomb for a short memorial service for Antim I.

The employees from the Mufti’s Office also took part in the ceremony on presentation of flowers at the monument in the mausoleum of Antim I.
