Grand Mufti in “Panorama”: Radical Islam has no chance in Bulgaria
“Radical Islam has no chance in Bulgaria because we all are witnesses that there are Muslim colleagues, clerics, who completed their religious education abroad and they were not accepted here”, said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi in the “Panorama” program of the Bulgarian National Television hosted by Boyko Vasilev.
We do not take a side in any case in the strife in MRF. We were blamed until now that we are with MRF, now we are blamed that we are not. We stand on an equal distance from all politicians, we are not political organization, for us all they are Bulgarian politicians and when we want to have certain relations, for us are important the relations with the country and not with a definite political party”, said in the studio of “Panorama” the Grand Mufti.
According to him the most important and positive result from the held National Muslim Conference is that ‘The Muslim Denomination had the opportunity to complete its mandate successfully. This led to stability in the Muslim Denomination – something which not only the Muslims need but the entire country taking into consideration what is happening globally and the refugee wave”, said the Grand Mufti.
For him there is nothing wrong with that the half of the money for the Muslim Denomination to come from Turkey and Turkish citizens to preach and to teach the Bulgarian Muslims. One of the reasons for this are the unsolved from the state problems of the Muslim Denomination which calls for seeking financial or moral support outside Bulgaria – logically from Turkey. “The understanding of the Islamic religion is, I would say, moderate understanding which is in Turkey and corresponds to the understanding of Islam which is in Bulgaria”, explained Mustafa Hadzhi and added that “everything that goes into the treasury of the Denomination is controlled and checked by the state”.
