Visit in Iran in the week of unity

 

29th International Islamic Unity Conference was organized in the Iranian capital city Tehran on 27th – 29th of December, 2015, on the occasion of the Week of Unity and the Birth of Muhammad (pbuh). The international forum was organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and was attended by about 700 participants from more than 70 countries – representatives of religious organizations, academics, thinkers, writers and others. Among the participants of the conference as a representative of the Muslim community in Bulgaria was Deputy Grand Mufti Vedat S. Ahmed.

The conference under the title “Current crises in the Islamic world” was opened in the International Congress Center in Tehran by the Secretary General of the organization Ayetullah Muhsin Eraki who paid attention to the challenges in front of the Islamic world and the necessity of joint efforts. After him speeches were delivered by the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Ibrahim al-Jaafari, the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Jordan Abdul Hafeez Dawood, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Executive Committee of Afghanistan MohammadMohaqiq, the President of the Diyanet of Turkey Prof. Mehmet Görmez, the grand muftis of Iraq and Syria Mahdi al-Sumaidaie and Badreddin Hassoun and others. As an expression of unity after the opening of the conference the participants performed together the noon prayer.

The next sessions were held in Hotel “Esteghlal”. In these sessions were discussed topics such as the crisis in the Islamic world; factors for occurrence and ways for solving them; woman and Muslim family; joining the efforts of the Muslim scholars and the Muslim traders; union of the Muslim youth; university education, science and technologies in the Islamic world, etc.

During the forum the participants had the opportunity to attend the closing ceremony of the 1st International Music Festival dedicated to the Messenger of Mercy Muhammad (pbuh). It was held in the Palace of Culture “Bahman” and the participants from different countries were awarded. Beside them prizes for merits were awarded to the Iranian performer of traditional music (dotar) Osman Mohammad Parast, the Iranian composer and choir-master with Armenian origin Loris Cheknavarian and the Indian composer A.R. Rahman. There was also a posthumously award for the composer Maurice Jarre for the sound-track of world-famous movie ‘The Message”.

On the last day of the conference the participants listened the speech of the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayetullah Ali Khamenei in which he present the situation in the world, criticized the unjust and terrorist acts and called upon the humanity for building up new civilization based on perspicacity, temperance, reason, education, mercy and justice.
