Grand Mufti met with BAS President

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi met with the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov on 19^th of November, this year. The visit is a continuation of the traditionally good relations of Grand Mufti’s Office with BAS in the person of its President.

“Science is guiding light for the prosperity of one society. The managing elites more and more neglect this, omitting the fact that without science there is not sustainable progress”, said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi during his visit at BAS. According to his words BAS is the luminary of science in Bulgaria. Numerous engagements in the public sector sometimes put in the background the possibilities of science but this is one of the challenges of the globalizing world with which we have to cope.

“Beside scientific career BAS is a center of spirit and spirituality in our country”, said Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov. According to him to preserve the spirituality of the nation is one of the main priorities of BAS. He presented to the Grand Mufti a strategy of BAS for the main national objectives “Views for the main national objectives and sustainable development of Bulgaria”.

“The scientists put on first place among them the spiritual development of the united Bulgarian nation as a guarantee of the personal dignity of the Bulgarian citizen. Acad. Vodenicharov presented to his guest a deluxe edition of “The Red Book of Bulgaria”.

They agreed on the idea that there could be developed joint scientific projects between the two institutions.
