First anniversary from the opening of the only bookstore for religious literature was celebrated in Kardzhali

The first specialized bookstore for religious literature related to the Islamic religion was opened on 17^th of November, 2014 in the city of Kardzhali, as the official celebration for the opening a year earlier was attended also by the Grand Mufti of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.

The idea and the initiative for opening the bookstore came from Mrs. Sibel Mehmed – vaiz (preacher) at Regional Mufti’s office – Kardzhali. The young Muslim woman personally and with a great devotion all year led the work of the bookstore without receiving salary for her work there. The Muslim Denomination proposed this waqf property free of charge. Thanks to these two facts Regional Mufti’s Office – Kardzhali managed to carry out this project, the first of this kind in the country, and maintain it already one year. On the occasion of anniversary of the successful implementation of the project the manager of the bookstore Mrs. Sibel Mehmed treat with sweets all people who visited the bookstore and gave each of them a copy of “Muslims” magazine.

Grand Mufti’s Office wished good luck to the initiative and may the Islamic bookstore, with the permission of Allah, exists for many years.
